J&K POLICE SEIZE 10 LITERS OF DESI ILLICIT LIQUOR AND DESTROYED 15 LITERS OF LAHAN IN KISHTWAR DISTRICT

May 7: In a steadfast pursuit to eradicate the production and consumption of illicit liquor, the District Police Kishtwar executed a significant raid today, resulting in the seizure of 10 liters of Desi illicit liquor and destroyed of 15 liters of Lahan from Pakalan Thakrie.

Upon receiving actionable information regarding the sale and manufacturing of illicit liquor in the Pakalan area of Thakrie, a team from PS Kishtwar, led by Inspector Firdous Ahmed, alongside PSI Surjeet Singh and ASI Mohd Shabir alongwith Lady officials, under the supervision of Dy. SP Hqrs Kishtwar Dr. Ishan Gupta-JKPS conducted a meticulously planned raid. The team recovered 10 liter of Desi illicit liquor from the spot and destroyed 15 liter of Lahan on the spot.

The apprehension of the accused, identified as Sita Devi, wife of Roshan Lal and resident of Pakalan. Subsequently, Case FIR No. 122/2024U/Sec 48 (a) of the Excise Act has been lodged at PS Kishtwar, initiating a thorough investigation into the matter.

This decisive action by the J&K Police underscores their unwavering dedication to curbing the illicit liquor trade and safeguarding the community from its harmful effects.
