January 08: In a brief exchange of firing between the Security forces and terrorists at Chowdhry Bagh area of Litter in district Pulwama earlier today one terrorist was killed. The identity and affiliation of the killed terrorist is being ascertained.

Incriminating materials including arms and ammunition were recovered from the killed terrorist. Notably no collateral damage took place during the incident amidst reports of some firing on the security forces for a nearby area was received when the encounter was in progress.



Police has registered a case in the matter and investigation is being initiated.

Citizens are requested not to venture inside the encounter zone since such an area can prove dangerous due to stray explosive materials. People are requested to cooperate with police till the area is completely sanitized and cleared of all the explosives materials if any.
