Srinagar, Feburary 04: The news item carried by different news agencies regarding the police action at Fatehkadal during the intervening night of 3/4th february is baseless and devoid of reality.

The actual incident is that on Sunday CRPF and Police was deployed in the area because of the shutdown call and apprehended L&O issues. In the late afternoon some miscreants assembled at Karfali Mohalla crossing and started tossing stones at the deployed CRPF and Police. The CRPF and Police deployed on spot responded properly as per SOP and dispersed the mob. During the process some TSM shells were used.

A case FIR No: 03/2019 u/s 148, 149, 336, 307 RPC stands registered in the matter with P/S Maharaj Gunj.

Nobody has entered into any house as alleged by some miscreants leaving apart the ransacking. It seems that some miscreants spread false rumours to escape the clutches of law.
