Srinagar, March 13: Police Training School Manigam (Ganderbal) organized first ever Intra-Institute Debate competition of trainees (14th BRTC Batch) on 09th of March, 2019 on the topic “ ROLE OF POLICE IN MODERN SOCIETY” wherein 13 trainees participated and threw light on the subject.

All the participants tried to give befitting fight to their counterparts and convince the audience how to establish people friendly policing and enhance pristine image of police through certain behavioral changes in optimistic approach towards the society.

Police being the basic tool to safeguard and protect human life and public property from any threat and uphold the integrity of nation, often has to face public rage and anger while implementing law of the land.

All participants threw light on measures to be taken to win over public trust. Several points were discussed which are required to be taken immediately like community policing, make people aware of their rights and role of police in making society better, checking corruption, prevention and detection of crime, how to make police force more responsible. The debate remained informative in order to bring the changes in present policing and all the competitors elaborated the topic in positive directions.

The jury appointed for evaluation of debate, took the assigned job minutely and after keen observation /evaluation recruit constable Mohammad Nasir Belt No.406/IR-22nd, recruit constable Shahid-ul-Islam Belt No.874/IR-23rd and recruit constable Rameez Ahmad Mir Belt No.449/IR-21st were declared first, 2nd and third respectively. They were honoured with Mementoes and certificates.
