April 18: One person was arrested by Sopore police following an action against those involved in drug peddling in North Kashmir.

One person identified as Sameer Ahmad Dar son of Mohammad Rajab Dar resident of Dangerpora was arrested at a checkpoint near Sadpora-Dangerpora Crossing for the drug supply offences. He has been taken to Police Station Sopore where he remains in custody.

Officers at the checkpoint have seized 400 capsules of Spasmoproxyvan from his possession.

Case FIR No 98/2019 under relevant sections has been registered in Police Station Sopore and investigation has been taken up.

Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighborhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.

Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace.
