Jammu, June 11: In order to make the passport related verifications convenient for the public, District Police Jammu has started a dedicated phone helpline number 8491-830830 for passport verifications. All enquiries related to the status of passport verifications can be made on this number. This way an applicant will not have to physically visit the District Police Office to enquire about the status of his/her passport verification.

Further, an SMS alert service has been operationalised by District Police Jammu. Once a verification request is received at District Police Office Jammu, two SMS messages will be sent on the mobile number provided by the Applicant - the first at the time of receipt of application, and the second once the verification is finally disposed off from the District Police Office, Jammu. This is meant to o save people from unnecessary botheration and to make the process more people friendly.
