Anantnag, 12 June: Anantnag police continuing its drive against contraband cultivation to root out the menace of drugs, destroyed poppy cultivation spread over 20 kanals of land in villages khayar and Hapatnar Aishmqam.

On the strict directions of SSP Anantnag shri Altaf Ahmad Khan, a police party of Police station Aishmqam headed by SHO Aishmqam under the supervision of SDPO Pahalgam, destroyed huge poppy cultivation.

Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding cultivation of contrabands in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling & cultivation of contraband substances shall be dealt as per law``` .
