Jammu July 01st : For constructive interaction with civil society members and to further strengthen the relations with masses, J&K Police in Rajouri district held two separate public interaction meetings at Hanjana village of Nowshera and Galuti village of Manjakote.
In Hanjana village of Nowshera, station house officer Nowshera Mohammad Amin chaired the meeting which was primarily focused on awareneee against drugs abuse.
Sarpnches, former sarpanches, panches and other respectables and youth as well as women from the area attended the meeting.
Participants were made aware about the drugs addiction which is not only deteriorating the social fabric but also affecting the youth of society badly as it results in thefts and other social crimes by addicts.
Participants were also asked to co-operate the law enforcing agencies in eradication of drugs menace from society.
In Galuti village, meeting was chaired by station house officer Manjakote Manzoor Kohli.
Sarpanch Mohammad Ayoub, Sarpanch Mohammad Farooq along with panches and prominent villagers of the area participated in the meeting.
Threadbare discussion on a number of issues was held with main focus on crime related activities and people were made aware about problem of drugs addiction especially among youth.
Locals assured their best possible cooperation to police in keeping a check on these evils.
On this occasion, a dispute between two local families was also resolved.
