July 04: As a part of its public outreach programme, Kupwara Police under the auspices of Civic Action Programme organized a talent hunt event “Choona Hai Aasman” at District Police Lines Kupwara.

A large number of male & female students from different institutions of the district participated in the event. They were categorized in three age groups viz 5-12 years, 13-17 years & 18-25 years.

On the occasion SP Kupwara who was chief guest on the occasion said that our valley is full of talent and youth need to be motivated to excel in different fields and the sole objective of these programmes is to provide a platform to those children who generally do not get opportunity to present themselves.

In the event, Khushboo Jan daughter of Abdul Majeed, Saqib Jabbar son of Ab Jabbar & Shahid Shafi son of Mohd Shafi were adjudged as 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the age group of 5-12 years by the jury members. In the age group of 13-18 years, Athar Ashraf son of Mohd Ashraf, Iftikar Ahmad son of Bashir Ahmad and Mohd Umar son of Gh Hassan bagged 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions respectively. Similarly in the age group of 19-25, RJ Sagar son of Mohd Sultan, Bilal Ahmad son of Saif-ud-din and Aijaz Ah son of Habib-ul-lah were adjudged as 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively.

SP Kupwara, Dy.SP Hqrs Kupwara and DySP DAR Kupwara distributed the prizes among the position holders of each group. SP Kupwara also presented mementos to the band members and the jury members of the “Talent Hunt" event.
