Srinagar,August 04: In its continuous offensive against menace of drug abuse under the able command of SSP Srinagar Dr. M. Haseeb Mughal-JKPS, Srinagar police continues its war against drugs.

On 03.08.2019 Police party of Police Station M.R.Gunj headed by SHO Police Station M.R.Gunj Shri Ayaz Geelani under the supervision of SDPO Maharajgung Shri Feroz Qadri apprehended two drug peddlers and recovered codeine Phosphate.

During snap naka at Syed Kocha Kawdara on Nalamar road an auto bearing registration No. JK01V 4404 was stopped for routine checking and during checking 48 bottles of codeine phosphate were recovered from the possession of auto driver namely Wajid Ahmed Beigh S/o Gh. Mohammad R/O Shadab Colony Ellahibagh and his accomplace namely Aabid Hassan Dar S/o. Late Gh. Hassan R/o Bakshiabad Colony Batamaloo which they intend to sell among the youth of srinager especially Downton area.Both the accused have been arrested in the instant case and the contraband was seized on spot.

In this connection Case FIR No.38/19 U/S 8/22 NDPS stands registered and investigation taken up.

This effort is hugely hailed by the general masses. Police has appealed the common citizens to share all information related to drug abuse, so that curative steps can be initiated.
