LG visits PHQ, Compliments JK Police for its contribution in handling situation professionally

DGP, J&K, other officers brief LG on working of force

JAMMU, NOVEMBER 04: Hon’ble Lt. Governor Jammu and Kashmir Shri Girish Chandra Murmu today visited Police Headquarters at Jammu where he chaired senior officers meeting. The meeting was attended among others by Chief Secretary Shri B. V. R Subrahmanyam IAS, Home Secretary Shri Shaleen Kabra IAS, all ADGsP/ IGsP of Jammu and Kashmir Police, besides other officers. The Hon’ble Lt. Governor was received by DGP J&K and his team of officers and was given a ceremonial guard of honour at PHQ, on his arrival.

Chairing the senior officers meeting the Hon’ble Lt. Governor Shri Girish Chandra Murmu complimented Jammu and Kashmir Police and other security forces for facing different challenges amicably. He hailed the synergy and level of cooperation between different forces working in the union territory.

He said that it was heartening to note that firm action has been taken against the forces inimical to peace and hoped that Jammu and Kashmir Police will continue to do so in future also. He advised the officers to solve the problems of the general public and direct the jurisdictional officers to increase their engagements and cooperation with the people.

Director General of Police Shri Dilbag Singh in his welcome address thanked Hon’ble Lt. Governor for taking time even on the first day of the opening of darbar at Jammu to visit the PHQ.

DGP briefed the Hon’ble Lt. Governor regarding working of Jammu and Kashmir Police and said that in the last three months in particular situation has been handled in a professional manner. He said that besides handling law and order effectively, in the operations against the terrorists substantial gains have been made. DGP also felicitated the Hon’ble Lt. Governor on this occasion.

Chief Secretary Shri B.V.R Subrahmanyam, in his vote of thanks speech said that Jammu and Kashmir Police has been working exceptionally during the past few months and has proved itself as an outstanding force of the country. He said that the coordination and cooperation between the forces is also outstanding.

On this occasion, IGP Kashmir Shri S.P Pani and AIG(P/T) PHQ Shri Mubassir Latifi gave powerpoint presentation regarding the Jammu and Kashmir Police.
