November 16:Police in its recent action against drug dealings in Srinagar arrested a drug peddler at a checkpoint and seized contraband substance from his possession.

One person identified as Imtiyaz Ahmad Dar resident of Lidermud Pulwama has been arrested for the drug supply offences. He has been taken to Police Station Rainawari where he remains in custody.

Officers at the checkpoint established at Rainawari have recovered 1.9 Kgs of Charas from his possession.

A Case FIR No. 61/2019 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Rainawari and investigation has been taken up.

Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.
