Budgam Police arrests 03 drug peddlers, contraband substance seized


November 22: Police in its recent action against drug dealings in district Budgam arrested 03 drug peddlers and seized contraband substance from their possession.

Officers at the checkpoint established at Bonpora Budgam intercepted a vehicle bearing registration No: JK04C-4012 and arrested one drug peddler indentified as Abdul Majeed Bhat resident of Wara Sangam, Budgam. 69.5 Kgs of Fuki was recovered from his possession. He has been taken to Police Station Budgam where he remains in custody.

A Case FIR No. 324/2019 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Budgam and investigation has been initiated.

Separately at another check point established at Kilkadal Chadoora, police intercepted a vehicle bearing registration No: DL4CAH-5607 and recovered 5kgs of Charas from the possession of two persons identified as Nazir Ahmad Rather resident of Kaisar Mohalla Chadoora and Mehraj-ud-din Wani resident of Awanpora Chadoora. Both of them have been arrested and shifted to police station Chadoora where they remain in custody.

A Case FIR No. 185/2019 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Chadoora and further investigation is in progress.

Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.
