*December 13:* ```Police in its recent action against drug dealings in Kupwara, arrested a drug peddler and recovered contraband substance from his possession.

Officers at Jabdi area of Kupwara intercepted and arrested one suspect who was identified as Ishfaq Ahmad Shah resident of Jabdi Karnah. The officers were able to recover 7Kgs of Brown Sugar in 7 separate packets. He has been shifted to Police Station Karnah where he remains in custody.

Case FIR No. 59/2019 under relevant sections of law has been registered & investigation initiated.

Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.

Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace.```
