Jammu, February 23: Members of Women Empowerment Centre, Doda, Ms Umera and Ms, Sania inaugurated Women Police Station in presence of Director General of Police Shri Dilbag Singh. DGP was on his visit to Doda during which he interacting with the prominent citizens of the District and also interacted with the jurisdictional officers and took a review of security situation in the district.
The DGP accompanied by IGP Jammu, Shri Mukesh Singh, DIG Doda- Kishtwar Ramban range, Sh. Bhim Sen Tuti was received by District SSP Shri Mumtaz Ahmad and was presented a ceremonial guard of honour at DPL Doda.
After the inaugural ceremony, the DGP while congratulating Doda Police personnel said that this well designed police station will help in protecting the rights of women in the district. The DGP stressed for effective measures to respond to the cries for justice of women and children who have suffered violence. We have to go all out to end these horrible abuses and the impunity that allows these human rights violations to continue' DGP added. The DGP directed officers that ending violence against women and girls has to be on our top priorities.
The DGP further said that โCrime against women shall be taken seriously and for this SHO Women Police Station has been directed to train lady investigation officersโ, to deal and investigate the complaints of women victim.
While addressing the prominent citizens, members of political parties, civil society member of Doda, the DGP appreciated the role of people of Doda for wiping out terrorism in the District. Recalling his posting as SSP Doda, the DGP said that terrorist activities then in the district were on its peak and now because of the cooperation and support of people to the security forces, the terrorism here is counting its last days. He said that the peopleโs cooperation is must to put an end to the unlawful actives.
While interacting with the officers, the DGP complimented the Doda Police personnel for handling the law and order situation in a professional way and appreciated the Doda police for excellent work on the terrorist front. He directed the officers to monitor the suspicious movements and strengthen the communication within the ranks. The DGP said that any individual involved/associated with the anti-national activities should be dealt strictly.
The DGP was apprised about the security scenario and measure taken to maintain peace and tranquility in the District by SSP Doda and the jurisdictional officers.
Addl. SP Hqrs Doda Sh Master Popsy, Addl. SP Bhaderwah Sh Raj Singh Goria, Sh Manoj Kumar DySP Hqrs Doda , Sh Mansoor Ayaz Dy SP DAR Doda and SHO Doda Inspector Rouf Ahmed and others senior police officers were present of the occasion.
