Kishtwar' February,27: District Police Kishtwar conducted a Police Community Partnership Group (PCPG) meeting at Police Post Padyarna, Kishtwar. The meeting was chaired by SSP Kishtwar Dr. Harmeet Singh Mehta. Addl. SP Kishtwar Shri Ajaz Ahmed Zargar, SDPO Atholi Shri Pardeep Sen and ICPP Padyarna were also present on the occasion.The meeting was Convened to strengthen Police-Public relations.

The meeting was attended by respectables from different villages under the jurisdictions of PP Padyarna and includes among others Sarpanches, panchs, social workers and youth of area .

*During the meeting, cooperation of participants was sought for maintenance of communal harmony and crime prevention in the area. The participants assured full support to district police Kishtwar for maintenance of peace,harmony and assistance in crime prevention. Participants also raised various issues like engagement of unemployed local youth in Keru Hydro Project, distillation of illicit liquor in the area etc. The participants assured that every possible support and assistance will be provided from the people of Padyarna area in combating drug abuse, law & order and other issues. SSP Kishtwar assured the participants for prompt redressal of each issue.

*SSP Kishtwar while addressing the gathering requested them to maintain brotherhood, law &order, peace and communal harmony in the area and not to fell prey to the evil design of ANEs by indulging themselves in anti-national activities. They were advised to report to police about any mischievous element or activity in the area without fear, so that an early and prompt action is taken against such elements.* *The participants were informed that District Police Kishtwar has proposed upgradation of Police Post Padyarna to Police Station level, for which the participants assured that adequate land at suitable location at Padyarna will be provided to Police Department for construction of the same. The participants were further advised to make their children aware about ill effects of drugs, so that they refrain from indulging in such menace.*


At the end, the participants appreciated efforts of Police to build a connecting bridge with the people and further expressed desire that such interactions should continue in future as well.
