*Police provides food, other items among needy people* _FACILITATED RATION DISTRIBUTION AT MANY PLACES_

*April 01:* ```Continuing its efforts to reach out the needy people, Police provided food and other essential items in Sopore, Shopian, Kupwara and Handwara. Police also facilitated the distribution of ration at various Ration Depots across the valley.

In Sopore, police distributes food & other essential items among destitute families and needy people especially non-local residents in the jurisdiction of Police Station Sopore and PS Tarzoo. Sopore police also facilitated distribution of ration ensuring proper social distancing at Rohama and Behrampora Rafiabad areas in the jurisdiction of Police Station Panzla and Police Post Watergam.

In Srinagar, a police team assisted by SDPO Zakura distributed food items among the needy persons at their door steps in the area of interior Dal. Srinagar police also facilitated distribution of ration ensuring proper social distancing in the jurisdiction of Police Station Karan Nagar.

In Bandipora, police facilitated ration distribution at different Ration Stores of the district besides, banners and posters were circulated at prominent public places including Banks & ATMs regarding precautions to be taken to stop the spread of Coronavirus. In Shopian, police distributed food and essential items among the needy persons.

In Handwara, police along with CRPF distributed food and eatable items among the needy persons and destitute families in the jurisdiction of Police Station Handwara.

In Kupwara, police distributed food and eatable items among the needy persons and destitute families in Taad and Teethwal area of Karnah Kupwara.


In Ganderbal, police officers made a fervent appeal to the residents of Ganderbal to stay indoors as much as possible to break the chain of COVID -19 infection. The officers in an appeal to the general public asked them to take precautionary measures, avoid social contact and cooperate with administration to tackle this virus.

Police requests the general public of the valley to maintain social distancing, good personal hygiene for prevention from Coronavirus. J&K Police is committed to mitigate the difficulties faced by people due to lockdown.```
