*April 06:* ```Police in its recent action against drug dealings in Srinagar have arrested two drug peddlers and recovered contraband substance from their possession.

Officers at a checkpoint established at Malkha Chowk, Nowhatta intercepted two suspicious persons identified as Ghulam Rasool Sheikh @ Gama and Ghulam Qadir Sheikh both residents of Sheikh Colony Nowhatta.

Officers during checking were able to recover 370grams of Charas from their possession.

Case FIR No. 14/2020 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Nowhatta and investigation in the matter has been initiated. They have been arrested and shifted to Police Station Nowhatta where they remain in custody.

Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.

Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace as reiterated in our community meetings.```
