Awantipora 19 May 2020: continuing its drive against drug Peddlers Awantipora Police arrested four drug peddlers and recovered twenty kilograms of poppy straw from their possession.
Police party on naka duty at Dahwatoo crossing found 04 persons moving in suspicious circumstances and were stopped for checking.During checking,the persons were found to be carrying/ possessing poppy straw (about 20 Kgs in weight) in bags.
All the four persons namely Ishfaq Ahmad , Bilal Ahmad Naikoo, Mohd Akbar Wani residents of Beighpora and Mohd Abass resident of Renzipora have been arrested.
Case FIR number 67/2020 under relevant sections of NDPS stands registered against the said arrested persons in Police Station Awantipora.
