June 07:```Awantipora Police arrested a fraudster who collected Rs 40,000 fraudulently from a person for release of his son from Police Station Khrew.

Police Station Khrew received a complaint from Ghulam Nabi Bhat resident of Sharshali Khrew that one person identified as Rafiq Ahmad Badam son of Abdul Rashid resident of Wuyan Khrew has taken Rs 40,000 from him for releasing his son from Police Station Khrew by making an impression that he needs the money for Police Station Khrew.

It is pertinent to mention here that although the son of complainant identified as Mohammad Younis Bhat was called by Police in connection with investigation of case FIR No 56/2019 of P/S Khrew for questioning purpose but was released by Police Station Khrew immediately after questioning.

Accordingly, a case FIR No. 30/2020 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Khrew and investigation started.

During the course of investigation, the involved accused fraudulent person identified as Rafiq Ahmad Badam was arrested and Rs 40,000 was also recovered from him.

General public are requested not to fall prey in the hands of such fraudulent people. Police has resolved to act tough against inimical elements. Locals of the area lauded the Role and prompt action of police.```
