June 11: On a credible input Police in Handwara have busted a Pakistan sponsored narco-terror module and arrested three terrorist associates of proscribed terror outfit LeT. Incriminating materials including huge quantity of narcotics and cash have been recovered from their possession.
The arrested terrorist associates have been identified as Syed Iftikhar Indrabi son of Syed Ateequlla Indrabi resident of Laribal Rajwar Handwara, Abdul Moomin Peer and Islam Ul Haq Peer sons of Mohd Ashraf Peer both residents of Waskura Handwara.
Incriminating materials including Cash Rs 1.34 Crore, Heroine weighing 21Kgs (worth 100 Crore market value) and a cash counting machine were recovered from their possession.
The other persons involved in the crime have been identified and all efforts are on to arrest them.
The module was in close connection with Pakistan based terror handlers and was involved in drug trade & assisting financially to active terrorists of proscribed terror outfit LeT. The above recoveries also exposed the nexus between drug dealers and terrorists.
The module was working for LeT outfit to strengthen their activities in the valley besides misguiding and motivating the local youth to join terror folds.
Case under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Handwara and investigation has been taken up through a special investigation team (SIT). The SIT so constituted shall unearth the nexus between accused and terror outfits, radicals, smugglers and other anti-national elements.
