August 12:`Continuing its drive against drug dealings in Sopore, Police have arrested two notorious drug peddlers and recovered contraband substance from their possession.

Officers in the jurisdiction of Police Station Sopore intercepted two persons identified as Mohammad Ashraf Ganie resident of Reban Atpora and Abdul Hameed Mir resident of Janwara Sopore. During checking, officers were able to recover huge quantity of contraband substance from their possession. They have been arrested and shifted to Police Station Sopore where they remain in custody. Both the arrested notorious drug peddlers were involved in supplying drugs among the youth of the area.

Accordingly, case FIR No. 213/2020 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Sopore and investigation into the matter has been initiated.

Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.
