October 20:* ```In order to inculcate & promote sports spirit among the youth and build healthy Police-Public relations, besides taking forward youth friendly policing initiative particularly in rural areas, under aegis of CAP (Civic Action Programme), Kupwara Police Cricket League 2020 started today. DIG NKR Shri Mohammad Sulaiman Chowdary-IPS inaugurated the event.

In opening ceremony, inaugural match was played between Victoria XI VS City Club Kupwara at Sports Galizoo stadium Kupwara.

SSP Kupwara Shri Shriram Ambarkar –IPS along with senior officers from Army, CRPF and Police were also present on the occasion.

While speaking on the occasion, DIG NKR lauded the initiative of Kupwara Police for organizing such tournament in the District, with the objective to provide an opportunity to the youth of the district so that they can exhibit their talent and skills.

SSP Kupwara, Shri Shriram Ambarkar-IPS while speaking on the occasion thanked DIG NKR for gracing the opening ceremony and encouraging the youth of the district, as this gesture will go a long way in nurturing the sports activities in the district.

Community members and youth of the area have appreciated the efforts of Kupwara police and expressed hope that police will provide them similar platform in future to show case their talents.```
