Budgam Police arrests 03 notorious drug peddlers, contraband substances recovered


February 09: Acting tough against the drug dealings, Police in Budgam have arrested three notorious drug peddlers and recovered contraband substances from their possession.

Officers at checkpoints established at Sebdan bridge intercepted three suspicious individuals identified as Muzamil Ahmed Khan, Mukhtar Ahmed Wani both residents of Bathar Budgam and Rafi Ahmed Dar resident of Naidgam Soibugh. During checking, officers were able to recover 10grams of Heroin, 02 litres of Codeine Phosphate and 74 Tablets of Alprazolam from their possession. They have been arrested and shifted to police station where they remain in custody.

Accordingly, a case FIR No.28/2021 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Budgam and investigation has been initiated.

Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.

Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace.
