February 09: Acting tough against the drug dealings, Police in Bandipora have arrested a drug peddler and recovered contraband substance from his possession.

Based on specific information, a police party from Police Post Nowgam headed by DO Nowgam established a checkpoint at Ganastan village and intercepted one person riding a Scooter bearing registration number DL13SH-0280. He has been identified as Parvaiz Ahmad Beig resident of Ganastan Sumbal. During checking, officers were able to recover 15kg's of Charas powder from his possession. He has been arrested and shifted to PS where he remains in custody. Vehicle used in the commission of the crime has also been seized.

Accordingly, a case FIR No.14/2021 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Sumbal and investigation has been initiated.
