Jammu, February 12: Attestation-cum-passing out Parade of probationary Dy. Superintendents of Police 13th batch and probationary Sub Inspectors 24th batch was held at Sher-i-Kashmir Police Academy Udhampur today.
Hon’ble Lt. Governor Shri Manoj Sinha who was chief guest took the salute at an impressive march past from the passing out trainee officers and inspected the parade. The Lt Governor congratulated the passouts, their parents, and also distributed awards among the position holders.

Joshi, Air officer Commanding Shri, Tejinder Singh, DGP Prisons J&K, Shri V.K Singh, ADGsP, Shri A. K. Choudhary, S. J. M. Gillani, Abdul Ghani Mir, Director SKPA, Shri Dr. S. D. Singh Jamwal, IGsP T. Namgyal, Shri M. K. Sinha, Shri Danesh Rana, AIGs of PHQ, Assistant Directors, SKPAU, DC, Udhampur, Dr Piyush Singla, retired and serving senior police/civil officers, army and CAPF officers, parents/relatives of the trainees, and civil society members were present on the occasion.
Addressing the function, Director General of Police Shri Dilbag Singh thanked the Hon’ble Lt. Governor Shri Manoj Sinha, Advisors to Honb’le Lt Governor, and other guests for gracing the occasion. He applauded the efforts put in by Director SKPA and his team of dedicated officers and instructors for mentoring and shaping the trainees. He complimented the trainees who successfully completed the training and urged them to adopt people friendly attitude while performing their duties. He exhorted upon the pass out trainees to maintain high standards of duty , discipline and professional integrity while discharging their duties.
The DGP said that all the police forces of the country are doing commendable job but Jammu and Kashmir Police force have been faced with different set of challenges including Pak sponsored terrorism over the past three decades as a result of which it has emerged as one of the most professional police forces of the country. He said that as DGP he had an opportunity to attend a couple of DGP’s conferences and every time the Hon'ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi and Hon'ble Home Minister of India Shri Amit Shah expressed their appreciations and acknowledged the role of Jammu and Kashmir Police. Leading this brave force is an honour and a proud feeling for him, the DGP added. He said that Hon’ble Lt Governor J&K Shri Shri Manoj Sinha is very sympathetic to Jammu and Kashmir Police and added that he highlights the achievements and sacrifices of the force at every platform.
The DGP said that Jammu and Kashmir Police is working on many fronts in different challenging circumstances and added that these pass outs also got an exposure to some of them during their special deployment at different places during COVID-19 and elections. He said that the Parade ground of SKPA Udhampur is a historical ground as it is on this ground that Jammu and Kashmir Police was honoured with Presidential Colours by the then President of India Shri A.P.J Abdul Kalam.
Addressing the passouts, the DGP said that after taking the oath, officers became part of a huge Police Pariwar with great responsibility on their shoulders. He advised them to work with dedication for peace of Jammu and Kashmir and always be ready to extend helping hand to the people in need. The DGP said that in the changing Jammu and Kashmir the development goals cannot be achieved until the peace is completely restored and added that it is time to work with more dedication, honesty and commitment to ensure the long lasting peace in Jammu and Kashmir.
Earlier, Director SKPA Udhampur Dr. S. D Singh in his welcome address gave a detailed resume of the training activities conducted during the training of the probationary officers. He said that besides conventional training, emphasis was laid on training in the areas like counter insurgency operations, crime detection and investigation. He said that the DySsP were sent for Bharat Dharshan tour as a part of their training to interact with their counter parts in other states of the country.
In the passing out parade 03 Probationary DySPs and 583 PSIs took pledge for their selfless service to the nation.
Among the probationary DySPs, Mohd Anzer was awarded Governor’s appreciation letter and Baton of Honour, Director’s Trophy and memento and Trikuta Cup and memento, and Ms Syed Sleet Shah was award DGP’s appreciation letter and silver plaque and DGP’s Trophy and memento.
Among the probationary PSIs. Rakshit Sharma was declared all-round best and best in indoor was awarded Governor’s appreciation letter and batch of honour, and DGP’s Trophy and memento, Rahul Sharma was declared 2nd all-round best and was awarded DGP’s appreciation letter and silver plaque, Diviya Bharti was declared best in outdoor and was award Director’s Trophy and memento, Venkatesh was declared best Marks man and was awarded Trikuta Cup and memento, Rinku Sharma was declared Best Rider and was awarded Jehlum Cup and memento and Ajaz Ahamd was declared best in Sports man and was awarded Chenab Trophy and memento
