March 07:Srinagar Police launched a plantation drive at District Police headquarters, Shergarhi, Srinagar. The drive was launched by SSP Srinagar Dr. Mohd Haseeb Mughal-JKPS, besides other senior officers and jawans participated in this drive.

The main aim of this initiative is to promote greenery in our establishments as a part of larger sustainable ecological development. The preservation of our ecology assumes importance so as to stabilize our ecosystem in order to preserve the ecological diversity within it, said the SSP while planting the saplings. Promoting greenery will help us to offset emissions which upset our ecological balance.

Speaking on the occasion, SSP Srinagar said that such plantation drives will continue in other police establishments of Srinagar Police in coming days to promote scenic beauty in addition to conservation of environment. He further said that being part of a responsible organization, we must plant trees to keep the nature in its best balance and we must gift our future generations a green and clean environs.

Pine, Willow and other saplings were planted within the premises of District Police headquarters Shergarhi, Srinagar during this drive.```
