Budgam Police carried out special drive against violators of Covid-19 guidelines


April 16: Acting tough against the violators of Government orders and keeping in view the surge in Covid-19 cases, police along with civil officers have conducted a drive against violators of Covid-19 guide lines in district Budgam.

The drive was held at numerous vulnerable towns to ensure that people adhere to SOPs/guidelines envisaged by government to curb the spread of COVID-19 pandemic.

During the drive, people including drivers, pedestrians, shopkeepers, passengers, employees and others were fined for not wearing face masks and not following other SOPs of covid19 containment. Fine to the tune of ₹20480/ imposed upon the violators for not following the SOPs envisaged by the government.

SSP Budgam Shri Tahir Saleem-JKPS said that the aim and objective of the drive is to ensure wearing of face masks and following of other mandated SOPs, besides focussing on smooth supply of essential commodities during the holy month of Ramadhan. He also appealed the people of Budgam to adhere to the guidelines/SOPs with regard to Covid-19 and wearing face masks whenever they venture out of their homes.```
