May 03:Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police have arrested two notorious drug peddlers in Budgam and recovered psychotropic substances from their possession.
Officers from Police Post Humhama at a checkpoint established at Railway Bridge Humhama intercepted two persons who were moving in suspicious conditions. They were identified as Sahil Yousuf Bhat son of Mohammad Yousuf Bhat and Firdous Ahmad Tantray son of Ghulam Rasool Tantray both residents of Humhama. During checking, officers were able to recover 25 bottles of Codeine, 448 tablets of Spasmoproxyvon Plus & 150 tablets of Alprozolem from their possession. They were arrested and shifted to police station where they remain in custody.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 110/2021 under relevant sections of law stands registered in Police Station Budgam and investigation has been taken up.
Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law. Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace.```
