May 06:`Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Kulgam police along with Executive Magistrate destroyed Poppy cultivation in Pooniwa and other adjacent areas falling under the jurisdiction of PS Kulgam.

Acting on specific information about cultivation of Poppy, Police party from Police Station Kulgam along with Executive Magistrate led by SHO PS Kulgam under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Kulgam have destroyed the poppy cultivation spread over nearly about 08 Kanals of land in village Pooniwa and its adjacent areas falling under the jurisdiction of Police Station Kulgam.

Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding cultivation of contrabands in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling & cultivation of contraband substances shall be dealt as per law.

Our consistent actions against such anti-social elements should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace.```
