Jammu: In continuation to the press release dated 28-08-2021 regarding sale of banned synthetic threads (manja) in which police teams of PP Chinore arrested a shopkeeper with 4 rolls of synthetic threads (manja).During sustained questioning,he disclosed that one person namely Sahil Behal S/o Rajesh Kumar R/o 169 Bakshi Nagar, Jammu is also dealing in the sale of banned synthetic threads(gattu) in the area.

On the directions of worthy SSP Jammu Sh.Chandan Kohli, IPS special police teams of PS Domana were constituted.The team led by SHO PS Domana Inspr Mahesh Sharma assisted by I/C PP Chinore PSI Avtar Krishan established a special naka and rounded up the suspect identified as Sahil in a vehicle bearing Registration No JK02AL-3404. During search 64 banned synthetic thread rolls were recovered from his vehicle and after intensive questioning on his disclosure 1018 more Chinese Synthetic thread rolls were recovered from a godown at Talab Tillo Jammu. On this, case FIR No. 244/2021 and 245/2021 have been registered at PS Domana and both the accused got arrested.

SSP Jammu said that the illegal sale of Synthetic thread cannot be tolerated in Jammu district and moreover who purchase that thread can also be dealt under law.

The arrests and recovery was made under the supervision of SP Rural Sanjay Sharma. Further investigation of the case is going on.

Jammu Police is acting tough against the sale and use of banned synthetic threads and more stringent action shall be taken against the law violators.
