September 09:`Acting tough against the drug dealings, Police in Srinagar have arrested a notorious drug peddler and recovered contraband substance from his possession.

A Police party from Police Station Shergari during the naka checking intercepted a vehicle (Maruti Alto) bearing registration number JK13G-0454 driven by Faisal Ahmad Dar son of Manzoor Ahmad Dar resident of Lademund Pulwama. During checking, officers were able to recover charas concealed under the back seat of the vehicle. He has been arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody. Vehicle used in the commission of crime has also been seized.

Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 79/2021 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Shergari and investigation has been initiated.

Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law. Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace.```
