36 bovine animals rescued by police post Chowki Chourah Jammu. Five accused arrested


Jammu: In a drive against bovine smuggling, Jammu Police during Naka checking at Chowki Choura has rescued 36 bovine animals. Two vehicles bearing Registration Nos. JK03G-1934 and JK22-7761 has also been seized.

In this regard, two cases FIR No. 233/21 u/s 188/IPC & 11/PCA Act and FIR No. 234/21 u/s 188/IPC & 11/PCA Act have been registered at P/S Akhnoor and five accused namely
1) Mohd. Yousuf S/o Abdul Ahad R/o Bulbul Nowgam Tehsil & District Anantnag
2) Faisal Bashir S/o Bashir Ahmed R/o watarigam Tehsil & District Anantnag
3) Touseef Ahmed Sheikh S/o Abdul Rashid Shiekh R/o Zalangam Tehsil Kokernag & District Anantnag
4) Muneeb Ahmed Shiekh S/o Nisar Ahmed Shiekh R/o Zalangam Tehsil Kokernag & District Anantnag
5) Barkat ali S/o Sher ali R/o Garkhal tehsil Akhnoor Distt. Jammu have also been arrested.


The recovery has been made by I/C PP Chowki Chourah Inspr Ankuj Kumar. The overall arrests and recoveries have been made under the supervision of SDPO Akhnoor Varun Jandial.

Further investigation of the case is going on.

02. *Absconder absconding since 5 years, arrested by Police station Domana Jammu*

Jammu: A hardcore criminal cum absconder namely Abdul Rashid S/o Qutab Din R/o Gole Gujral Tawi who was booked in case FIR No. 19/2016 of P/S Domana but was absconding his arrest since 2016, has been arrested by Jammu police.

Jammu Police was looking for the above mentioned accused, local intelligence was generated and on a tip off, dedicated teams of P/S Domana under the supervision of SDPO Domana Kousheen Koul were constituted and immediately swung into action.The team led by SHO P/S Domana Inspr Mahesh Sharma raided the suspected locations and arrested the accused person namely Abdul Rashid S/o Qutab Din R/o Gole Gujral Tawi.

A warrant u/s 512/crpc had also been issued by the Hon'ble court Jammu against the above mentioned accused. Finally today on 15-09-2021 accused was produced before Hon'ble High Court Jammu.

03. *Notorious criminal arrested, 1 pistol recovered by Police station Bahu Fort Jammu*


Jammu: In an act of alertness and prompt action, police team of PS Bahu Fort led by SHO PS Bahu Fort Inspr Deepak Pathania while on patrolling duty near Bahu Plaza and Rail Head complex area rounded up a suspect who tried to flee away on seeing police party, identified as Sumeshwar Singh Jamwal @ Vicky @ Raja S/O Sh. Harnam Singh Jamwal R/O Bantalab Lower Thathar Jammu. During search a pistol was recovered from his possession.

On this case FIR under relevant sections got registered at PS Bahu Fort and accused got arrested.

During further questioning accused revealed that he has brought around 8/10 country made pistols from outside the UT of J&K.

It is pertinent to mention that accused was a notorious criminal and was earlier also arrested under NDPS Act.

The overall arrest and recoveries were made under the supervision of SDPO City East Bikram Kumar and SP City South Deepak Digra.

Further investigation of the case is going on.

04. *994 grams of cannabis and 14 bottles of illicit liquor along with other narcotics substances recovered by team of Police Station, Channi Himmat, Jammu. One accused peddler arrested.*

Jammu: Based on the specific inputs regarding drug peddling, several nakas were laid at different locations by Jammu Police. On one such naka led by SHO P/S Channi Himmat Inspr. Karan Chalotra whereby they rounded up a suspect who tried to hide herself on seeing police naka, later identified as Samita Ragini
W/o Sapan Singh R/o Azad Ghar, Kolkata A/P House No. 97, near Railway fatak, Sector No. 02, Channi Himmat, Jammu. On search following were recovered:
1. Cannabis - 994 grams (328 packets),
2. Quarter of desi whisky – 14 X 180 ml,
3. Cannabis Roll – 250 pieces,
4. Rolling paper – 20 packets, were recovered from her illegal possession.

•On this, case FIR No. 149/2021 U/s 8/20 NDPS and 48A Excise Act got registered at P/S Channi Himmat and the accused got arrested. The overall arrest and recovery was made under the supervision of SDPO East Bikram Kumar.

Further investigation of the case is going on.
