_J&K Police provides helping hand;_ Rescues more than 200 souls along with live stock in Pulwama


October 23:``Amid the inclement weather, Police have rescued almost 30 nomadic families along with their live stock in Pulwama following a distress call.

Police in Pulwama received a distress call from the hilly area of Sangarwani Pulwama that some families of nomads have got stranded in the upper reaches of Namblan, Gaadar and Anderkhal beheks, who are struggling badly for food and shelter.

Acting swiftly, SSP Pulwama Shri Gh Jeelani-JKPS directed DySP Headquarters Shri S M Shafi- JKPS to prepare rescue teams for rescue operation. Police party along with SDRF team, representatives from civil administration and local civil volunteers also joined the rescue operation in the said area. During the rescue operation, nomadic families consisting of more than 200 members along with their livestock were rescued besides, their essential commodities were shifted to the safer place.

Essential commodities of most of the families were found drastically damaged due to snowfall, cattle were striving for fodder and children were trembling with cold. The families were shifted to safer places, ration and humanitarian aid were distributed among the needy souls besides fodder was also provided for their cattle.

General public is requested not to venture out into such places which are full of risk and also all precautionary measures be taken to survive the wrath of inclement weather.```
