J&K Police celebrates Constitution Day across J&K; Main function held at PHQ DGP J&K Shri Dilbag Singh highlights importance of the Day ADGP Shri M.K Sinha read out the Preamble of Constitution

Jammu, November 26: Jammu and Kashmir Police celebrates Constitution Day, also known as Samvidhan Divas across J&K. The main function was held in the premises of Police Headquarters J&K here today morning. The function was presided over by the Director General of Police J&K Shri Dilbag Singh, while ADGP Hqrs. Shri M.K Sinha read out the Preamble of the Constitution of India.

The DGP while speaking on the occasion said it is on this day in 1949 the constitution was dedicated to the people of democratic India. He said that this day has an immense historical importance for all of us and today we rededicate ourselves to those great ideals and the spirit of our constitution. The DGP said as responsible members of the force we have supreme responsibility on our shoulders to protect and uphold the constitution. He said that today we are taking the pledge to rededicate ourselves for the service of the Nation and its people.

He said that Jammu and Kashmir Police personnel are working with utmost dedication and bravery to protect the sovereignty & integrity of the country and this force stands firm despite massive challenges. He paid rich tributes to the fallen heroes of J&K Police Pariwar who sacrificed their lives to safeguard the interest of the country.

Referring to the Gallantry Award Ceremony 2021 held at New Delhi recently, the DGP said that it was a proud moment for him to witness the families of our martyrs being honoured with the prestigious awards of the country. He said that it was also an overwhelming feeling to see Shri Amit Kumar, a member of J&K Police Pariwar being honoured with the prestigious Shaurya Chakra for his commitment and dedication towards the service of the nation.

He said that J&K Police has been facing different challenges at different times and added that every time this force has emerged victorious. Appreciating the commitment and resolve of the Jawans, the DGP said that it is because of the dedicated efforts of our Jawas working on ground that this force is progressing fast towards its mission of peace. He said that for the situation we are in, it is natural to have ups and downs but putting consistent efforts in every situation is the hallmark of J&K Police.

The ADGP Headquarter, PHQ, Shri M.K Sinha readout the Preamble of the Constitution to the gathering of officers and personnel of different wings of J&K Police posted in PHQ Campus.

Among others ADGsP, Shri S. J. M. Gillani, Shri Danesh Rana, IGP CIV Shri Alok Kumar attended the function.

Meanwhile AIG (Training/policy) Shri, J.S. Johar read out Preamble to over 100 trainees/ NCB officers at the Police auditorium Gulshan ground where a specialized training course is going on. Similar functions were held by various wings/units of J&K Police throughout J&K.
