Police arrests 02 hybrid terrorists of LeT/ TRF in Srinagar _Huge cache of arms & ammunition recovered_

May 23: Police have arrested two hybrid terrorists of proscribed terror outfit LeT/TRF in Chanapora area of Srinagar. Incriminating materials including huge cache of arms & ammunition have been recovered from their possession.

Acting upon own input about the presence of terrorists in Chanapora area of Srinagar, a cordon and search operation was launched by Srinagar Police in the said area. During the search, two hybrid terrorists of proscribed terror outfit LeT/TRF were arrested. They have been identified as Aamir Mushtaq Ganai @Mussa son of Mushtaq Ahmed Ganai resident of Khan Colony Chanapora and Ajlan Altaf Bhat son of Mohd Altaf Bhat resident of Butpora Chanapora.

Incriminating materials, huge cache of arms & ammunition including *15* pistols, *30* magazines, *300* rounds & *1* silencer were recovered from their possession.

In this regard, Police has registered a case vide FIR No. 31/2022 under relevant sections of law in Police Station Chanapora and investigation has been vigorously taken up.

Preliminary investigation has revealed that these weapons were sent by Pakistan based handlers of LeT/TRF for target killings of civilian and security personnel in Srinagar city. The arrested duo was on assignment to deliver these pistols to other terrorists in Srinagar to carry out target killings at the behest of Pakistani handlers.

IGP Kashmir termed the operation as big success as by arresting these hybrid terrorists and recovery of huge number of pistols, Police averted possible target killings of innocent people particularly in Srinagar City. IGP while interacting with media shared that so far *130* pistols have been recovered this year.

The further investigation of the case is vigorously going on to unearth whole nexus, Plan and conspiracy.
