KATHUA; Aug 15; On the eve of the 76th Independence Day, full dress parade ceremony was held at District Sports Stadium Kathua, amid tight security arrangements.*

*On this occasion DDC Chairman Kathua Retd. Col. Sh Mahan Singh was the chief guest who alongwith Deputy Commisioner Kathua Sh. Rahul Pandey- IAS and Senior Superintendent of Police Sh. R C Kotwal -JKPS (SSP Kathua) unfurled the Tricolor National Flag and took salute to the march past of the participating contingents. The parade was commanded by Dy.SP (Prob.) Ms. Anjana Attri JKPS alongwith PSI Arjun Singh( Second Parade Commander) whereas other contingents including CRPF 121 BN , IRP 19TH BN, PTS Kathua, Home Guards,NCC Cadets, Govt. Degree College Kathua, Women Govt. Degree College Kathua, Govt. Higher Secondary School and other private Education Institutional contingents of District Kathua also graced the ocassion*
*A colorful cutural programme was presented by the students of various schools of Kathua.*
*On this occasion DC Kathua Sh. Rahul Pandey -IAS, SSP Kathua Sh. R C Kotwal JKPS, Principal PTS Kathua Sh. Roop Raj Bhagat -JKPS, CO IRP 19th Bn. Sh. Benam Tosh-JKPS,;Addl.SP Kathua Sh. Suresh Kumar Chib JKPS and other Gazzetted Officers of Police/Civil administration, DDC's Vice Chairperson Sh.Raghunandan Singh, alongwith other DDC's and huge gathering of civil society members as well as children witnessed the ocassion.This Year Theme of Independence Day is "Nation First, Always First" to honour the sacrifices made by our freedom fighters as the entire country will celebrate "Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav" marking the end of 75 years of Independence Day-2022.*
*At the conclusion of the event, prizes were distributed among the top three parade contingents and other participants whereas, appreciation certificates from Police and Civil Administration were also distributed among police personnel and other government employees for their appreciable performance and hard work.*
