Sopore, 15 August: Independence Day 2022 was celebrated in Police District Sopore with great fervor wherein tricolor was unfurled at each Police Station/Police establishment/various Schools, MCs/BDO offices, Panchayat ghars etc and *main function was held at Khushal Sports Stadium Sopore* in which MC Chairman Sopore Smt. Masrat Rasool Kar as chief guest unfurled the National Flag and inspected the Parade.

SSP Sopore Shri. Shabir Nawab-JKPS, Additional Deputy Commissioner Sopore Shri. Parvaiz Sajad-JKAS, SDPO Sopore Shri. Furqan Qadir-JKPS, SDPO Rafiabad Shri. Ameen Bhat-JKPS, DySP DAR DPL Sopore Shri. Aabid Rashid-JKPS, DYSP PC Sopore Shri. Syed Gazanfar, SHO Police Station Sopore Insp. Khalid Fayaz and SHO Police Station Tarzoo Insp. Bilal Khanday besides other senior officers of civil administration/ Police Department were present on the occasion.

The parade was commanded by Insp. Ishfaq Ahmad.

The march past was presented by the Contingent of District Police Sopore, Jammu and Kashmir Armed Police, CRPF, Home Guard, SPO and Students of different Schools.

Besides, colorful cultural programmes were presented and awards were given to the best performers by the chief guest.


Prizes and appreciation certificates from Police and Civil administration were also given to the Police Personnel and other civil employees for their appreciable performance and hard work.

Good number of people witnessed the function as elaborate security arrangement were made by the District Police Sopore in this behalf.
