Police recovers huge quantity of contraband substances in Pulwama

November 17: Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police in Pulwama have recovered huge quantity of contraband substances in village Ukhoo Kakapora.

Police Station Kakapora received a specific information through reliable sources that one person namely Shamim Ahmad Allaie son of Ab Gani Allaie resident of Ukhoo Kakapora has indulged in drug peddling and hoarded a huge quantity of narcotic substance in his residential house.

On receipt of this information, a Police party of PS Kakapora alongwith Magistrate raided the specific location. During search, 8.5kgs of bang patri was recovered from the said residential house. However, the accused person was not present at home & efforts are on to nab the culprit.

Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 76/2022 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Kakapora and further investigation has been initiated.

Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law. Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace.```
