Ek Ped Shaheed Ke Nam Plantation drive organised in GMHSS Rajouri SSP Rajouri underscores importance of inculcating spirit of environment conservation

Rajouri, Aug 02: Under the initiative of 'Ek Ped Shaheed Ke Nam', the Jammu and Kashmir police in association with Forest Department organised a plantation drive in Government Model Girls Higher Secondary School Rajouri.

This plantation drive was organised on Friday with other SSP Rajouri, Sh. Randeep Kumar (JKPS), other police officers, officers of forest department, officers from forest protection force, school administration were present in this plantation drive.

Several saplings of different plant species of fruiting nature, medicinal values, decorative values were planted in the school premises.

' Ek Ped Shaheed Ke Nam ' was theme for this plantation drive that aims to plant saplings in memory of martyrs and to honour their sacrifices with message of environment conservation.

Addressing the school students, SSP Rajouri, Sh. Randeep Kumar (JKPS) said that environment conservation is one of the grave need of present era to battle environment degradation and other allied problems like global warming, melting of glaciers, deforestation.

He further underscored the importance of inculcating the spirit of environment conservation among the society and called students to be ambassadors of environment conservation.
