Samba, November 22: JKP has registered nine FIRs against house / land owners in district Samba for not providing details of tenants to Police in a drive launched for the verification of tenants/outsiders across the district.

The verification process was initiated by the Samba Police for the outsiders staying as tenants and domestic helpers. During the drive, five cases were registered at Police Station Samba and two cases each at Police Station Ghagwal & Police Station Bari Brahmana under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

Nine FIRs registered under section 223 BNS at different Police Stations across the district includes FIR No. 303/2024 of PS Samba, FIR No. 304/2024 of PS Samba, FIR No. 305/2024 of PS Samba, FIR No. 306/2024 of PS Samba, FIR No. 307/2024 of PS Samba, FIR No. 156/2024 of PS Ghagwal, FIR No. 157/2024 of PS Ghagwal, FIR No. 156 2024 of PS Bari Brahmana and FIR No. 157/2024 of PS Bari Brahmana.

It is pertinent to mention here that District Magistrate Samba has ordered for the Police verification of the tenants and despite orders, the booked persons failed to get the Police verification of their tenant conducted.

SSP Samba urged upon the citizens of the district to come forward and provide the complete details of their tenants/domestic helpers to their nearest Police Station and get the Police verification done timely.
