Kathua; 22 November:- District Cyber Cell Kathua under overall supervision of SSP Kathua has demonstrated its commitment to combat cyber crime by recovering defrauded amount of ₹ 50,000/-
Brief facts of the case are that on 27/08/2024, an online complaint was lodged in Cyber Cell Kathua through NCCR Portal in which a complainant namely Ravinder Kumar S/o Joginder Singh R/o Billawar , Kathua reported that he was trying to book a flight ticket but he mistakenly paid an amount of Rs 50000 to the fake vender with whom he came in contact through internet. The unknown fraudsters made excuses that his immigration clearance is pending and denied to refund the amount to the complainant. Afterwards he registered an online complaint on NCCR Portal regarding the fraud.
During the investigation, the Cyber Cell Kathua team acted swiftly and exhibited hectic efforts and froze the fraudster's account involved in the fraud. Today on 22/11/2024, the total defrauded amount of Rs 50,000 has been recovered and credited back to the account of victim while further investigation in the case is in progress.
*Pertinently, from the date of establishment, Cyber Cell Kathua has successfully recovered a defrauded amount of Rs 36,07,895/- so far.
