Police arrested 2 drug peddlers in Baramulla; Contraband substance recovered

November 23: Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police have arrested two drug peddlers in Baramulla and recovered contraband substance from their possession.

A Police party of Police Station Uri headed by SHO PS Uri at a checkpoint established at Bandi Crossing, intercepted one person who was identified as Faizal Ahmad Khan son of Reyaz Ahmad resident of Paranpeelan. During search 30 grams of Contraband Charas and 1.5 Kgs of contraband Cannabis Powder like substances was recovered from his possession. He has been arrested and has been shifted to Police Station.

Similarily, Police party of Police Station Baramulla headed by SHO PS Baramulla at a checkpoint established at Veerwan Baramulla, intercepted one persons who was identified as Farooq Ahmad Lone son of Ali Mohd resident of Heewan Sheeri. During search 50 grams of contraband Charas like substances was recovered from his possession. He has been arrested and has been shifted to Police Station.

Accordingly, cases under relevant sections of law have been registered at Police Station Uri & Baramulla and investigation has been initiated.
