IGP Jammu holds darbar of officers and jawans at DPL Rajouri Give thrust on speedy grievance redressal; IGP Jammu


Jammu January 08: Inspector General Police Jammu Zone , Jammu during his maiden visit interacted/addressed the jawans and officers in a Darbar held in DPL Rajouri today.

The IGP was accompanied by Sh.Deepak Kumar Salathia, IPS, DIG R-P Range. Amongst others the Darbar was also attended by Sh.Yougal Manhas, JKPS, SSP Rajouri, Sh. Liaqat Ali, JKPS, Addl.SP Rajouri, Sh. G.L.Sharma, JKPS, Addl.SP Nowshera, Dy.SP DAR, Dy.SP Hqrs and all SDPOs/ SHOs besides Jawans of District Rajouri.

While interacting with the Officers and Jawans, the IGP exhorted upon them to respond to the public issues promptly and adopt a public friendly approach to win the hearts and minds of the public which should be the, sole aim of J&K Police.

The IGP exhorted the officers to promptly respond to public complaints. He also stressed to be good and friendly to general public and to remain polite in their public dealings which will help in good policing. Disposal has to be very fast and efficient so that we could provide succor to those in need and thus enhance the image of the Police in the eyes of the people.

This was the 3rd Darbar after taking charge by the IGP regarding the welfare of officers / Jawans. Police Jawans also put forth some of the problems faced by them.

IGP Jammu gave a patient hearing to their grievances and assured them that their issues will be decisively looked into for solution and the issues which require attention of PHQ will be referred for appropriate action.

IGP said that Rajouri is land of courageous and brave people and has produced valiant and courageous jawans and impressed upon them to continue to perform with similar commitment. He assured that all the officers and Jawans will be rewarded suitably who will perform well in different spheres of policing.

Immediately after the Darbar , a detailed Crime and Security review was held with all the Supervisory Officers and SHOs of District Rajouri where the performance in all spheres of policing was reviewed. While interacting with the Police officers, he directed all Police officers to ensure speedy and quality investigation. He also directed the officers to remain alert and vigilant to thwart any nefarious designs of anti-social and anti-national elements. He emphasized upon surprise checking of Nakas and establishing special nakas for checking of vehicles especially for border areas.

The IGP called for synergizing Police- Public partnership groups and directed the officers to conduct regular meetings with the general public in their areas of responsibility. He also stressed for ensuring strenuous police efforts towards maintenance of communal harmony and brotherhood. The senior officers of the district were asked to personally address these meetings and educate the people on fighting the menace of terrorism, drug abuse and other social evils prevailing in the society. He also asked the officers and Jawans to keep their eyes and ears open against any threat from terrorists and other anti-social elements in view of the forthcoming parliamentary elections. District Police was also directed to regularly visit the families of martyrs and redress their grievance, if any. SSP Rajouri was also directed to identify the Schools/Colleges where the martyrs had studied and get programmes organized in their honour so that the youths studying in the Colleges/Schools are made aware about the supreme sacrifices made by the valiant martyrs in order to bring peace in the District
