March 09: One person was arrested by Kulgam police during a naka checking at Amoh Crossing near Jawahar Tunnel following an action against those involved in drug peddling in Kulgam

One person identified as Ashok Kumar son of Malik Ram resident of Meran Sahab, Jammu was arrested for the drug offences has been taken to Police Station Qazigund where he remain in custody.

This is a part of proactive action initiated by Kulgam police against the drug peddling in South Kashmir.

Officers have seized 36 kilograms of poppy straw from his possession.

Case FIR No 32/2019 under relevant sections has been registered in Police Station Qazigund and investigation has been taken up.
