J&K Police in Doda district organize workshop on Juvenile Justice at DPL Doda* (Care and Protection of Children) *Juvenile justice needs urgent attention from all the departments and the civil society as well; ASP Hqrs. Doda


Jammu June 17th : On the direction of SSP Doda Sh. Shabir Ahmed Malik a Workshop on “Juvenile Justice” (Care and Protection of Children) Act was organized at District Police Line Doda.

The Workshop was attended by Sh. Sajjad Hussain Counselor CPS , SP Ops Doda Sh. Ravinder Pal Singh, ASP Hqrs Doda Sh Master Popsy, PO Rohit Tadyal, Mst Nazia Kousar Shan POIC Protection officer CPS Doda, DySP DAR Sh. Mansoor Ayaz, Social workers of Social Welfare Doda and 100-120 Officer/Officials of Police Deptt. were present on the occasion.
ASP Hqrs Doda emphasized on the role of vibrant child protection mechanism in the District and the role of Judicial Officers and Police in the implementation of the Juvenile Justice Act. He stressed that all the stakeholders must work in close coordination so that the mandate of the Act is achieved in letter and spirit on the ground. He also emphasized that the juvenile justice needs urgent attention from all the departments and the civil society as well. The participants raised various queries about establishing structures under the Act which is supported by the Integrated Child Protection Scheme.
PO Rohit Tadyal and Sh. Sajjad Hussain Counselor CPS also interacted with the participants. PO Rohit Tadyal stressed that awareness of community is very important in order to stop exploitation of children, protection and development of children. He added that in Doda whenever incidents of abuse are being reported, they are dealt with utmost priority and high sensitivity. Although there is no organized trafficking of children in Doda but we cannot ignore it. While Sajjad Hussain Counselor CPS stressed said that there are number of crimes happening in the society and children are watching all this. He also discussed about the discrimination among the girl children. He appealed all the participants to take care of all the children irrespective of their caste, color, sex or religion. DySP DAR Sh. Manzoor Ayaz while interacting with the participants said that the incidents of child abuse and child exploitation have increased as compared to the past.
