Srinagar,July 20: Mohd Altaf Rather
presently working in Police department as Head Constable was suspended for his involvement in drug trafficking.


On 17-7-2019 information received and developed by Police Station Batamaloo to the effect that one person namely
Mohd Altaf Rather
s/o Mohd Akbar Rather
R/o Panzan Chadoora presently working in police department as head constable , possessing huge quantity of charas and wandering in Batmaloo area to trade.
On this information case FIR No.64/19 U/s 8/20 NDPS act was registered and as part of inquiry laid a naka near PCR Kashmir by SHO Batamaloo Shri Subzar Ahmad ,leading to apprehension of said policeman and recovery 650 gms of charas from his possession along with cash amounting to 19,150 (converted money) and one motorcycle bearing Regd. No. JK01S- 2152 has been seized followed by due process of law.
