Another narcotics bid foiled; 1200 grams of Charas recovered at T.Chowk Banihal , drug smuggler held


Jammu August 3rd: Few days back, a cache of Codeine phosphate, capsules and tablets was seized by Banihal Police and two valley based peddlers were arrested. Today, similar type of information was received and accordingly a Naka was laid at T.Chowk and personally supervised by senior officers. The checking was intensified and during the process of frisking and checking, one pedestrian coming from Railway Station Banihal towards Banihal town was put to thorough checking. During search of the said pedestrian, 1200 gms Charas was recovered from his possession. On questioning the pedestrian disclosed his identity as Fazan Ahmed Dar S/O Mushtaq Ahmed Dar R/O Lodura Tehsil Watergam District Baramulla. In this regard case FIR No 108/2019 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act stands registered at PS Banihal and investigation taken up. During preliminary investigation, it came to notice that the accused has bought the consignment from valley side to sell it to the youth of Banihal and surrounding areas. Further investigation into the case is in progress. The arrest as well as recovery of the banned drug has been made by police team headed by Insp. Abid Hussain Bhukhari, SHO PS Banihal under the supervision of Sajjad Sarwar SDPO Banihal and Sanjay Parihar Addl.SP Ramban and overall supervision of Ms. Anita Sharma SSP Ramban.
