SOG Jammu busted a gang of interstate drug smugglers, recovers huge quantity of Poppy Straw (Bhukki)

Jammu, 18th November, 2019: Continuing its drive against drug menace, SOG Jammu and District Police Samba achieves a major success when it thwarted the plot of the drug smugglers of smuggling huge consignment of Poppy Straw from Kashmir to other parts of the country. They arrested two drug peddlers at Mansar Morh Samba and recovered huge quantity of poppy straw.

The accused have been identified as Gubaksh Singh s/o Darshan Singh r/o Malerkotla district Sangrur Punjab and Santokh Singh s/o Barkha Singh r/o Miami Teh Malerkotla district Sangrur Punjab.

Reports revealed that a joint team of PP Supwal and sleuths of SOG Jammu lead by SI Javed Kataria While on routine checking intercepted one truck bearing registration No. 35Q/2186 at Mansar Morh Samba. During checking of the truck 580 kilograms of poppy straw concealed in 25 plastic boxes was recovered from it. The truck, accused and recovered contraband was handed over to I/C PP Supwal.

In relation to this, Case FIR No. 252 under section 8/15 of NDPS Act has been registered at PS Samba .

The whole operation was monitored closely by SSP SOG Sandeep Mehta-KPS and Supervised by SSP Samba Shakti Pathak.
