Protecting the Constitution without fear our supreme responsibility: DGP

JAMMU, NOVEMBER 26: To commemorate Constitution Day, also known as Samvidhan Divas, a function was organized in the premises of Police Headquarters J&K here today morning. The function was presided over by the Director General of Police Shri Dilbag Singh, while ADGP Hqrs. Shri A. G. Mir read out the Preamble of Constitution of India and administered pledge of Fundamental Duties.

The DGP while speaking on the occasion said that this day has a historical importance as it was on this day in 1949 the Constitution of Country was adopted and today we are celebrating 70th anniversary of this great historic event.

The DGP said as the responsible members of the force we have a supreme responsibility on our shoulders and the responsibility is to protect the constitution without fear. He said that today is an important day for all of us as we are reiterating the pledge that we all take on the day of joining the force and commit ourselves to protect and implement the Constitution of our Country.

The ADGP Headquarter, PHQ Shri A. G Mir readout the Preamble and administered the pledge of Fundamental Duties in the Constitution to the officers and Jawans.

The function was attended by ADGP Armed Shri SJM Gillani, IGP Armed Shri Danesh Rana, Director Telecom Shri Naseer Ahmad, all senior officers of PHQ and APHQ, all Jammu Based JKAP/IRP Commandants and Staff members of PHQ and APHQ.

Meanwhile the Jammu Kashmir Police celebrated the day at all District Headquarters in Jammu and Kashmir where concerned Police Heads presided over the function. At Railways Headquarters, the function was led by ADGP GRP J&K, Shri Deepak Kumar. Superintendent Dr. Keerti Bhushan Sharma led the doctors and staff in the pledge taking ceremony at Police Hospital, Jammu.
